400 Years Celebration in Virginia!

Here I am in front of the sign of a very old lighthouse at the sight of the First Landing by the Virginia Company from England
Here's the Old Lighthouse
This isn't of course the "orgininal" cross...but it's in the original place
This plaque explains the history of the cross, you can click on the picture to read it better.
This again was the sight of the very first landing in the New Land across from England. It was the folks hired by the Virginia Company to come and establish the first colonies for England. As a result of this very landing, the settlers headed up the Chesapeake Bay and up a river named after the King of England (King James) and settled in the place names Jamestown. The Queen of England herself (you may have heard) came from England just a few weeks ago to commemorate the 400 Anniversary of the landing and establishing of Jamestown. It was from this humble beginning that is the reason why we are Americans today!
