Women's Bible Study

"Lord, Teach me to Study the Bible" by Kay Arthur
It has been amazing to see the women coming out with a burning heart desire to search the scriptures out in a way that they begin to see God in a new deeper personal way! We are currently going through the Kay Arthur study "Lord, Teach me How to Study the Bible" . It is amazing how when you simply just read God's word you miss out on so much! As we develop a deeper devotional life and begin to highlight key words and circle main characters, and pick out times and locations and start journaling main points...you have a greater understanding of the heart of God and the heart of the people in each of the stories. Then you begin to apply it to your life today and we gain an opportunity to grow in the Lord, to be corrected, to be encouraged, to be strengthened, to gain wisdom in all things! Man, that kinda growth demands a life changing experience! The study as taken us through the book of Jonah. WOW! Did you know the story reveals so much more then a man who ran from God and spent 3 days in the belly of a whale?? As we began to cross reference we saw the heart of God..he was a God with a plan and calling for a man's life, He is a God who was knows and sees everything, He was a good of judgement and a God of protection. He is a God who wants each person no matter who they are or where they have been or done to be given the opportunity to seek Him and be restored. We saw that Jonah was a man who knew God and heard clearly from Him and yet choice to run and be disobedient. When his plan didn't work, he had to kneel down and ask God to help him...Doesn't that sound like us today? Then we got to look at the sailors and see how they called out to everyone but God when things got bad and then when they saw the things of God first hand they began to call and pray to God, but yet when you cross reference back to other scripture you see that not all the sailors despite witnessing firsthand the work of the Lord had full conversions but still wavered in their faith and did not fully believe. Doesn't that sound like so many people in our lives today? All this and we haven"t been to the 2nd chapter of Jonah yet!
If you are sitting and wondering why you are left empty after your personal devotion time or wondering why you never hear the voice of the Lord...then dear sisters please come and join us! There are two studies to ensure that every women gets an opportunity!
1st & 3rd Thursday at 9am (childcare available)
